This page describes concepts and terms mentioned in the Developer's Guide.
Request Item: represents the digital content and settings which will result in the fulfillment of a physical letter delivered to its recipient.
Request: a container for one or more Request Items. A successful execution of one of PostalMethods "Send" Webservices will result in a new Request with one or more Request Items.
Paper: refers to a physical sheet of paper.
Page: refers to a printed side of a sheet of paper.
Simplex: printing on a single side of a sheet of paper.
Duplex: printing on both sides of a sheet of paper.
For example: duplex printing on a single paper results in a count of two pages.
Address Verification: every delivery address mailed to the United States must be verified before being fulfilled. Verification is done according to the United States Postal Service's Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) and Delivery Point Validation (DPV) standards.
